What to Expect on Your First Visit

At your initial visit, the doctor will complete a thorough evaluation prior to treatment. This evaluation includes taking a history of the condition, orthopedic and neurological testing, postural analysis, gait (walking) analysis, and palpatory spinal analysis. X-rays are often needed to help the doctor make the proper diagnosis. If spinal X-rays are necessary, they are obtained on-site. Some conditions require advanced imaging such as MRI or CT scanning and we refer to local imaging centers for these services.

After the examination, Dr. Olsen will determine whether or not you are a good candidate for care in our clinic. (If you are not a good candidate for treatment in our office, we will let you know promptly and refer you to the professional that can best help you).

If we think we can help you, treatment options and recommendations will be made to help restore your health and quality of life. We will typically begin treatment on the same day as your initial examination.

To save some time during your initial visit, please fill out your paperwork before you come in.  If you are not able to complete this prior to your visit, we will have copies in our office for you to fill out.

What do I need to bring to an initial exam?
1. X-rays, MRI reports or any other relevant information about your condition.
2. Contact information for your regular doctor if you would like us to coordinate care with them.
3. Payment method (payment is expected upon completion of the exam).

How long will the exam take?
We try our best to see all of our appointments at the time scheduled, but like any doctor’s office, some patient visits may take longer than anticipated. We are also open for emergency cases throughout the day, and while we give scheduled clients top priority, some of these patients may need to be seen immediately. To be safe, please set aside an hour to an hour and a half for initial exams and 30 minutes for follow-up appointments.
