Typical Causes of Knee Pain
The knee is a simple joint. It only moves front-to-back. There are three typical causes of knee pain or injury: 1) direct trauma to the knee; 2) foot/ankle problems; and 3) lower back/hip problems.
Poor foot mechanics create unequal stress in the knees. In our clinic, we usually use custom orthotic shoe inserts to address foot/ankle causes of knee pain.
Lower back and hip dysfunction are very common causes of knee pain. We use chiropractic adjustments and exercise therapy to rectify the motion of these joints. The effect is better knee alignment.
